This is not a myth. The CIA has openly admitted to planting agents in newsrooms to influence the information that Americans have long taken for granted as unbiased journalism. It was easy.
Feeding biased, misleading, and flat out false narratives to the American public is even easier now with a small handful of national media corporations controlling the flow of content. Even the new media platforms have gotten into the act.
Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube have begun a politicized censorship campaign by suspending “conservative” accounts for vague violations of their user agreements. It’s no coincidence that this is occurring during the run-up to the midterm elections. Even Democrat voters recognize the bias
Given that these social platforms are private businesses, it’s not a First Amendment issue. But it is discrimination. To wit: if a privately-owned bakery can be sued for refusing to bake a gay wedding cake due to religious beliefs, how then can a privately-owned social platform refuse service based on political beliefs?
Maybe the baker needs a “user agreement.” Maybe we all need an Internet Bill of Rights.
You see where this is going. Widespread control of information and shutting down any information that runs counter. All for the purpose of influencing elections and steering foreign policy (read: starting wars for profit and global hegemony).
Should this trend become irreversible, your precious democracy is dead, and the American Republic goes the way of Iraq or Venezuela, banana republics all. We are on the cusp.
